Anyone try the NEW AAC 77 grain OTM ammo?

I am still getting fantastic accuracy results and no issues with suppressor usage. From what I gather its the 55’s that are an issue under suppressor use. My 12.5 is 100% suppressed (its my “GPR”) and I haven’t had any issues in the 2000-2500 rounds I’ve run thru it so far of this 77gr AAC.

The AAC AK ammo showed up yesterday. Pretty interesting.

  1. The bullet has no steel in it. Magnet doesn’t stick.

  2. The bullet pulled with normal force. I was able to use the inertia hammer. Not too loose, but not impossible to break free like Russian ammo.

  3. Ball powder. I would have been surprised if the had extruded like I usually find in Russian ammo. 26.2 grains.

  4. .311 flat base bullet. I didn’t weigh it.

The AAC AK ammo shot pretty good. As accurate as you could expect from an AK, ran good, and this 7 round string had an SD under 10.

I shot an approximately 3.5" group on steel at 100 yards with an unmagnified Mepro sight. Very acceptable for an AK.

What was the rifle being used and barrel length?

Standard AK variant with the slant brake. 16" I guess. Sorry. I don’t know crap about AKs.

Also no idea if the average velocity is high/low/normal. 122gr bullet I believe.

Thanks. With those numbers I am starting to wonder what a 10 inch barreled AK pistol from Zastava would be in the same caliber.

AK fodder with an SD under 10…!? Zoiks!

And from AAC too. If it weren’t the Garmin chrono, I wouldn’t believe it.

OK, I’ve been using it a lot. I use it for my local 2 gun matches for ranges 200m and out, I still use IWI 77’s for any match I have to travel overnight . But, it works and it’s quite accurate in my Colt barrels. My Noveske barreled iron sight gun really likes it.
