I just entered the world of AR’s and this forum. Did all my research and desided on an M&P15PSX. Found what i thought was a good deal and jumped on it, but I am currently “deployed” (not military, but commercial agricultures equivalent to military deployment). So, it is sitting at home unfired while I’m away earning ammo money.
So, I was wondering if anyone had any first hand shooting expirence with the PS M&P15’s to help me ease the pain of waiting to break mine in.
Did the same thing. Contractor working in OEF, ordered a new M&P15T. Got home on vacation a couple weeks ago. Could not wait to get to the range! Once I did, I was very happy with how the M&P handled. It is an excellent rifle, congrats on your new PS version!
The PS/PSX version is an interesting product and, considering the recent surge of interest in piston AR’s, I imagine it’ll be a good product for S&W. They’re using the Adams piston system, yes? I’ve heard nothing but good things so far.
I have a M&P15T that has been flawless in function for ~2,000 rounds and a variety of 5.56/.223 ammo to date. Color me happy! If the PS/PSX sports this type of functional reliability S&W will have another M&P winner on their hands.
I was actually lucky enough to get to run home for the weekend. Scrambled around to buy some ammo and get sighted in, then went and shot my first multi gun competion ever on Sunday. I’m pretty happy with the PSX, but I definalty need some practice to get better aquinted. 6-8 inch plates at 200 yards with troy folding battle sights was…tough.
here’s to the begining of a beautiful relationship!!
