Thanks for your reply. I carry a G-27 daily IWB with a Comp-Tac Minotaur and an iPhone 6plus with a holster on my belt. I like the Volund but I just can’t get it cinched up that little extra that I would like. I find myself always hiking my pants up. It seems the buckle on the Aegis would allow for that. I also have a Wilderness instructor belt. I don’t wear it much.

I have both. At work I have to wear a tucked in combat shirt, and the G-hook is perfect with its slim profile. Very comfortable for me carrying a glock and keeping my pants up with pockets loaded.
I wear an Aegis Enhanced at home. It is quicker and easier to thread holsters and kit through this belt than any other. In addition, the belt style also makes it great for EDC. For training purposes it can easily support a holster and multiple mag pouches such as the RCS moduloaders. One word to the wise is to really research the belt size, so that you don’t have a tail that is too long potentially getting in the way of kit placement preferences.
Right now I’m liking G-hook for OCONUS, and Aegis Enhanced for CONUS.
I have both. As the others have stated, I prefer each for different use cases.
I usually carry a G19 IWB in a Comp-Tac MTAC holster. I like to carry a spare G17 mag horizontally at 1:30, and Joe Watson HiTS knife horizontally at 11:00.
The Volund belt is easier if I am going to be seated all day, or doing a lot of bending. As the previous posters stated, it’s more supple. I also wear a untucked polo and jeans to work.
If I have to dress up a bit and will be wearing a tucked in shirt, then the Aegis belt is worn. It does not seem to need hitching up as often, due to the increased stiffness. I can cinch and set it, and it stays. I also like wearing the Aegis on range days with an OWB Dark Star or Raven holster. It works really well with a Eagle triple mag carrier, flashlight carrier and a CSM mini dump pouch. That’s a fair bit of weight with a loaded G17 w/X300.
The only time I wear a leather belt is to church on Sunday, I’ve got a nice cordovan leather gun belt for that. It works great with a Milt Sparks VM2 and a G17.
Does it suck spending a couple of hundred dollars on belts? Yes.
Is it nice to wear a loaded gunbelt for 18 hours and not be fiddling with it? Yes.
Is it nice to invest in a set of belts that will last 10 years? Oh hell yes.
How’s that faith/belief/prayer thing work? Guess the G17 answers that question.

I have both. Plus a couple of Cobras, one from Ares and one from Volund. The Aegis is by far my favorite - I wear it everyday.
I usually hang a G17, spare mag (or two), knife, and occasionally a light off it with no problem.
Most people go to church because they believe in the power of their faith and beliefs. If one truly believes in the authenticity and power of one’s faith and beliefs… a gun belt and G17 seems a little sacrilege to that power of belief and faith. Hey I don’t know, I’m not religious, that’s why I’m asking the question.

This is a thread about gunbelts. It’s not a thread about religious beliefs. If you want to start such a thread, you’d be best off doing so on another site. It’s also poor form to take another poster’s thread widely off track. You have not added anything substantive or useful to this thread, where someone sought advice about a specific pair of belts. Instead, you chose to bait a Moderator by trying to find some sort of fault with their religious beliefs. That’s not wise to do here.

Secondly, I carry a gun to church for several reasons. One is that I have been asked to do so by the leadership of my church. I’m an armed usher. My job is to protect the nursery, and the infants and small children there. I consider that an important task. And more than one custody issue has turned ugly, especially when the non-custodial parent knows where the child will be at a specific time and place.
If you have some sort of problem with my religious beliefs, you would be very wise to leave them off this forum.

Thanks guys. It looks like we all go down this road. I too have a bunch of Wilderness, riggers, cobra’s. Hell with it I am just going to order the Ares.

Just got it today. First impression stiff and it cinches up very tight. The buckle is huge but I am sitting leaning over the keyboard and I don’t feel it. Did I mention it was stiff? Usually when I get up from the car or chair the first thing I need to do is hike my pants up with the Volund. So far I haven’t had to with the Ares. This might be the holy grail for me at least.
