Anyone here from Grand Prairie TX have CLEO sign off?

I live in Grand Prairie texas and I fall under Dallas county jurisdiction. Dallas county sheriff valdez wont sign off unless its “for a good reason”. So does anyone know if the Chief of Police at Grand Prairie will?

you wont. do a trust.

Are you saying this because you know from experience? I would much rather go with CLEO, since it would be $0. out of pocket. I am a LEO so I can do the prints and pic for free. All I would need is a signature and be done with it. According to Sheriff Valdez representatives she would sign, “for a good reason”. That is a very general answer which leaves me with the wonder if my reason would be good enough for her. So my next option is getting the Chief of police in my municipality to sign it off. Dont know if anyone here in Grand Prairie has done it.

Please keep in mind I never asked for advice wethere I should go with a trust or CLEO, theres plenty of threads going around discussing that. I simply want to know if anyone here has had the Chief of Police in Grand Prairie PD sign off.

According to NFA handbook and instructions on Form 1, you can also use a DA or certain judges with authority over your area. The way the requirement is worded, it sounds like you could even get a state vs. a local official. Perhaps Governor Perry’s office or the State DA will accomadate you.
