So after doing a search on the forums for the XM8 with nothing popping, I was curious if the bizarre prototype is all but forgotten. So, do any of you know of or have some quality shots of the rifle? Stickman maybe?

Haha, yeah I know, but most of the photos I looked at when I googled it lack the quality the photographers here shot. Even youtube was rather disappointing.
Might try HKPro. Not a lot of folks have such a thing in their personal collection.
Some guys at HKpro went to the SAR show and got some trigger time on one. Maybe some of them took some decent pics.
It is essentially a G36 (which is itself basically an AR-18) with redesigned furniture and altered control placement. If you’re curious about the looks of the gun’s internal parts, it would probably be much easier to find pictures of a stripped G36.

The prototype really shows what it’s based off of. Is it an optical illusion or is the XM8 smaller then the G36, or at the very least thinner?
