What’s up guys, thinking about building a 14.5 LW with a Troy TRX Extreme 13" rail and was wondering if anyone had some photos , pros and cons of this set up and what not. Any info is greatly appreciated.

I personally like the TRX Extreme rail ALOT. The low weight, lack of useless extra rails(for me anyways) and overall feel of the rail make it a big win. It was easy to install, once I got a proper wrench for the standard barrel nut. I am considering using the same rail to reconfigure my 11.5 SBR too

I just found a picture of the set up on a different post. It looks sweet but that’s not really what matters. Does anyone have any pros or cons to this set up? Also wondering how the durability of the Troy TRX extreme rail is.
I used the BCM FSP and ground it down to low profile status and grill painted it.
As for the durability, I have not had a chance to beat the piss out of the 14.5 above due to work and other things distracting me BUT I did have a 9" TRX-E on a training gun that saw a few thousand rounds before offing the upper. The rail held up “extremely” well even after gouges and bending other parts…
The 13" looks cool but it wouldn’t be useful for me. The way I have my front sight and light setup (which you can’t really make out in my pictures) wouldn’t work for my armlength. It would push the light too far forward and I would stretch to get to it. You may have longer arms but that is kind of why I didn’t go with the 13.
I went with the 11" and now regret not going with the 13". If you find that it puts your light too far out there… Just move it back.

I just put together a 16" LW middy with a 13" TRX or I should say Rob did for my wife. And it is so damn nice I’m having another one done exactly like it except this ones mine. I thought long and hard about something shorter than a 13" but since it was for the wife I felt more protection from a hot barrel was the better option.
Here’s a picture of my newest build. I bought the BCM 14.5" middy upper with an 11" VTAC Extreme, then switched the 11" out for the 13".
Here is my 14.5" upper with the 13" Troy Alpha. Pretty much the replacement for the TRX extreme from what I have heard.
