Those were some great lights, I wish I still had mine. I loaned it to a friend and it became a permanent gift when he moved before returning it.
Let’s see… Many dozens of most every Surefire made over the past 20 years with multiples of classic weaponlights, shotgun forends, M900’s, 6P’s, 6Z’s, and now X300’s. Malkoff Streamlight, SF and Maglite drop ins, MD2’s, Wildcat, and Hounddog. A beautiful RaClicky. Olight M20, M20S, M30, and i6’s. Many more Streamlights, Eagletacs, Petzls, Fenixes, SOLA, Princeton Tec, Photon, Night-Ops, Inova, Pelican and others I’ve forgotten.
Basically just about every light I could find with a tactical-ish UI or occasional unique use like for diving. I have seen lots of ideas come and and go and been able to indulge my crazy flashlight obsession in the continual pursuit of the ultimate carry, weapon and duty lights.
My current favorite light for duty and general use: Thrunite Scorpion v2.

But, I gotta say:

With all those lights, you need to invest in a good low light training class.
I agree, and I have many hours of training and several classes in lowlight conditions.
I used some Amazon credit card points and ordered a new light this morning
(yes, ANOTHER one)
I’ve never owned a Jetbeam before, so this will be my first - a Jetbeam BC40.
http://www.jet-beam.com/links/pro/bc40.aspx
It states it puts out 830 lumens. In the candle power forum tests of the light, the output seems pretty close to this in the real world. For $69, it is a good deal.
I considered buying the Eagletac G25C2… Their newest light. Lumens are close, but its $109 for the base 2 cell model, and my favorite vendor doesn’t sell on Amazon (so, I can’t use my credit card points)
And, the reflector on the G25C2 is just big enough on that one to be almost too big for pocket carry, despite being a 2 cell light (without the extender). So, I wouldn’t be carrying it anyway…
This Jetbeam will put out a tiny bit more, and will have a larger reflector head, so output should be a little better.
My daily carry light is my Eagletac T20C2 MK II, so anything I buy now is just to play around with anyway.
For the money, this should be a good light from a name brand
(and for the money, it’s free for me with those points)
I may one day. I haven’t seen anything like that in my area. And unfortunately, I’ve been on and off crutches since October… Can’t do much right now with knee problems in both knees (bone on bone).
I haven’t even been shooting since Sept.
Haha, I would like to do it but I have lights stashed and scattered in probably a dozen or more locations.
Yup. Various low light shooting courses, Dept. training, practice shooting at night and in the dark, clearing my house backwards and forwards hundreds of times, and practical application indoors/outdoors on duty.
Just another reason to play with my lights ![]()
Dennis.
Wow, I thought I was bad, with the following plus an assortment of cheaper LED’s like the kind you get at Home Depot. You guys put me to shame. ![]()
- Surefire (G2z, G2)
- Fenix (PD20, LD20, LD10, )
- Petzl (Tikka Xp2 headlamp)
Coming soon:
- Fenix PD31 (a 300 lumen, 2-battery CR123a light. Awesome!)
- Fenix TK35 (820 lumens. Gives new meaning to the British term of a “torch”
).
Thank you for this thread. It assures me that I am not totally abnormal in my intrigue with high power flashlights. I have quite a few, but my assortment is rather inferior to some listed here.
My fascination is not limited to tactical lights. I have specialized flashlights in our cars; rechargeable lights in most rooms; several Surefire lights in my workbench and some assorted 1500 + lumen rechargeable flashlights; LED work lights, lights on tri-pods, etc. But, thanks to this forum, I no longer feel like I have a weird illumination fetish! lol
That is a collection to make any light lover over the top.
I am partial to AA battery lights as they could be more accessible in an End of the world as we know it event.
You could be the founding father of Lights Aholic anonymous though
Many, many years ago it was mag lites, i think i had one of every model. now the lights i like are MUCH more expensive, lol
Wow, I am a sicker puppy than I thought. Of of curiosity, I just went through my desk drawers. I have four portable lights within arms’ length of where I am right now.
I may need intervention!
OK, you asked for it… So instead of somehow getting all my lights into one place, I went around and got photos of most of my lights minus various duplicates and those hidden away in various loadouts.
First, a photo I took a few years ago showing most of my Surefire collection minus many duplicates.

A couple of the Newer Surefire LED’s I actually thought were worth buying. Along with my current favorite general tac/duty light: Thrunite Scorpion V2 Turbo.

Various lights in my truck, missing a Petzl Myo headlamp lost in some deep corner though. Includes a beat up but no issue Olight M30 light that was my previous duty light, a franken SF with rechargeables, and a 4D maglight with a Malkoff Triple XPG drop in and LSD NiMH batteries that cost way more than the original light.

My daily EDC bored out 6Z running 18650 rechargeables and a Thrunite XM-L LED. Along with a couple other lights that were nearby.

Pic in the safe of various weaponlights, all mostly SF converted to LED.

AA backup lights backed up with lots of charged Eneloops.

Various sized “tactical” lights from Malkoff, Olight, Sunwayman, Fenix and Thrunite. All have various levels but are still easy to use, well for me at least!

Cool dive light with both flood and throw LED sets and various levels.

And to finish off, my old pre-ban duty light outfitted with a custom Malkoff dual P7 LED head giving off 900 lumens for 90 minutes. Even though huge by today’s standards I wish I could still carry it…

In my defense, CA has stupid AW laws which have prevented me from spending much money on anything good since 2001. Well, maybe that’s not such a good defense but this thread is about light collections so I might as well show where I am coming from when I spout off my opinions on this forum.
Dennis.
At first I didn’t think I was addicted to lights, then I stopped and thought about it. I own a TLR1s, a TLR2s, 2 Streamlight Stylus lights, one red one white, a Streamlight Nano, Fenix TK10, and a Pelican M1. And of course the prerequisite 3 mags lights laying around the house with their battery perpetually dead.
Of course its not as bad as a friend of mine, he is addicted to gloves, I think he has a good 12 pairs.
Nice collection Dennis ![]()
And here I am thinking I’m big pimping with 2 Surefire X300s and an A2 Aviator. lol
Less a “collection” and more an inability to not purchase any new lights that fit my usage criteria.
Dennis.
I have a few lights. Nothing special.
Microfire TL2 Explorer
Jetbeam TC-R2 (2)
Sunwayman VR10Ti
Quark 123^2 Tactical
I like the adjustable intensity lights with bezels.
iPad/Tapatalk
Have probably given away more lights than I currently have.
What I have left:
SF LX2
SF M952
SF E2L
SF 6P
Jetbeam RRT-0
EagleTac M3C4
Solarforce L2P
Olight T20
FirstLight tomahawk NV
TLR-1s
Plus a whole bunch of other small budget lights.
I need to get more Solarforce lights, IMO they are some of the best bang for the buck P60 drop in hosts.
