Anyone buying AMMO?

Not talking bullets. I’m just wondering if any of y’all have bought any shares of AMMO Inc (Ticker POWW)?

I’ve traded in and out for over a year and done okay…they have a very low share price and are at a historical low price point.

It’s a fairly new very small company so keep it to your “Powerball” money…. Honestly, I’m hoping they get bought up like Vista ammo brands were…but by an American company like Olin Corp.

Anyway, just thought I’d throw it out there. FYI, Ruger (RGR) is also trading at historically low prices.

caveat emptor

That’s the company that’s supposed to be here in AZ right? A buddy looked at their stock at one point. I looked at their product mix, and wasn’t thrilled. Wasn’t like they were making Black Hills kind of stuff at ail. I could have the wrong company, but the Ticker seems like the same company.

They are know as Ammo Inc.

It’s not bad ammo from the little I’ve used…but definitely not Black Hills.

The stock is trading for around $1.65, so it’s an easy way to get into a stock cheap. But as any company, if they fold, all stock becomes worthless.

The company owns the Gun Broker website.

They have an interesting board and leadership with long ties to the gun industry and NASCAR

I consider this a “lottery ticket” stock…so buyer beware. But could be something in a few years…

YMMV.

It’s a hard no for me.

TBH, their financials are not good, especially given that they’re not good even after using Non-GAAP methods to shuffle things like depreciation around (i.e. book cooking). They’re losing money, their revenues are decreasing, they have material supply and cost issues, and they did not provide any forward guidance in their last report which leads me to believe that they don’t have a concrete plan for achieving profitability in the near-term.

None of this is good, and obviously, selling ammo for less than it costs to make is not a recipe for long term success. I think that a the end of the day there’s a reasonable chance they’ll go under in the near future. Plus their industry is such that they could be effectively put out of business with the stroke of a pen. I won’t own RGR, VSTO, or SWBI either, for similar reasons. Investing is not gambling and there are too many better places to put money to be messing with these guys. Sorry, but that’s just how I see it.

I wish you luck. I sincerely hope that they prove me wrong and you get rich.

I agree with all of this…I like to speculate a bit but no doubt it’s risky. Probably ought not have brought this up.

Sometimes “Anyone think this is good” posts are very useful. I didn’t know any of the things kerplode mentioned and maybe he saved a few people from something more risky than they were thinking.

People here seem to get annoyed sometimes at the “What do you think of this Brand X firearm?” posts, but it really brings out the experienced shooters who can tell you exactly what is what and in the past they have saved me some money.
