Anybody put 10,000 rounds of nato ball through HK's P30

I’m curious if anyone has had the opportunity to run 10,000 rounds +, of 124 gr nato ball through an HK P30 9mm pistol? I’d like to know what parts failures, if any you’ve encountered? :big_boss:

Not sure what else you’re looking for…PT.com’s test documents the P30’s performance from round 1-90k+. I’d recommend reading it from the beginning through 10,000 rounds. Other than that I can say you’d probably be good to go for 10k rounds of any ammo you choose.

A more complete usage test will not be found. If you’re calling it “torture” because he doesn’t clean it after every range session then you need to reevaluate priorities. You should be looking for more of this type of review, you won’t find one better, because the only possible flaw with Green’s documentation is that it is just one gun. Look for more, similar reviews. Finding someone with unfettered access to NATO ball and the desire to shoot 10k rds through one p30 might is a tall order. You might try actually reading his notes.

I have over 9k with a mmix of everything. No issues

As far as simple wear is concerned how is the P30 going to be different than any other pistol or mechanical thing? It will wear where metal touches metal: Barrel hood, muzzle, slide and frame rails etc. All auto pistols will exhibit similar wear. Springs will wear out and should be replaced as per the manufacturer’s recommendation. Other than that I think Todd showed what can actually break. Todd’s testing is the best I’ve seen and you’d probably have to find factory or military test data to equal it.

I have ~11k on my P30, and ~18k on my P30L, both V3 in 9mm. I have had one parts breakage of a heavy trigger return spring that I put on my P30L at the 2k round count. It lasted 14k rounds. I have used a wide variety of factory loads, self-defense loads, and light competition handloads.

I have 5 total malfunctions between both guns, and they both stopped malfunctioning after 5k rounds. I have complete faith in the reliability of my guns.

HK handguns are designed to shoot NATO ammo OP.

You’ve been given links to Todd Green’s P30 test.

Exactly what are you trying to prove?

FWIW, I’ve put 2,800 rds. of Winchester Q4318 NATO through my P30L and it just devours it.

“Uhh” I was looking for someone with firsthand experience in doing so, someone I could ask questions of, not a torture test…

:suicide:

I think that the disconnect is that you asked if “anyone” has shot 10k through a P30, to which the answer is an unequivocal “yes”.
Now if you are looking for more than one source of data, that’s great and there is no problem with that, but it helps if you phrase the question so that others know that.

You need to phrase it better

Please, the other site is ----> way, don’t bring that garbage attitude here.

It’s not a torture test and the owner of that site is very open to questions. What more can you realistically ask for? Try reading the site.

Testosteronis? LOL. Is that some highfalutin version of testosterone?

If you’d check that rude tongue for a second, you’d see your question has already been answered. You dismissed one response, which wasn’t “first-hand,” as a “torture test.” You then went on to troll PlutoCATM’s input with a smart-ass emoticon and you also totally ignored Vecdran’s post.

I’m through with this topic. Good luck to you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Look, it was a very simple question, instead of a small listing of enthusiastic experiences, I got the twenty-something testosteroni patrol, complete with all their silly, imature baiting, insulting, off topic rudeness & attitude!

There was no disconnect, I know how to ask a question, it was an attempt to catalog “professional” men/womens experience with this particular pistol, not a guy on a blog, but a group of people who had earned an opinion through hard use and carry, people who would have to have formed an opinion after a passing a certain threshhold…Instead, just for having the cheek to ask a question I got nothing but attitude & imaturity, real classy…

Mods/admin you can lock er down, I’ll seek out this info elsewhere…

Denali, there is no need to lock the thread. You asked a broad question and some people responded. If the answers weren’t what you were looking for than just say so and be more specific. No need to get upset. Just modify your question to get the answer you’re looking for.

I put over 10,000 rounds of Winchester 124 NATO thru a P30 LEM last spring, and another 2,500 rounds of same ammo thru the pistol at Rogers. Only thing I noticed was that the trigger pull improved with use.
