I’m contemplating an upper build and need some “visual” advice. I really like how my other mid-length shoots but am looking for something without an FSB. I’m thinking about a mid-length 16" barrel with a 10" rail and a front Troy sight but am wondering if a low profile gas block will show at all.
Anybody have any pics of this configuration that they would be willing to share?

Thanks for the advice but I have searched to my heart’s content and have not found what I was looking for! I’m hoping for a side pic and a front pic with a nice view of the gas block under the rail (assuming that it exists). I’m also hoping that this will help me select the right rail and gas block to use!
A 10" rail will “just” cover a short 1" long gas block such as the Vltor. It would cover half of a chopped standard FSB or long gasblock like the DD clamp type.
Here is a pic of one of mine, 16" mid with a Vltor gas block and a 11" LaRue rail. The gas block is about an inch under the rail. As you can see in the pic, an 11 inch rail comes to the end of the FSB step in the barrel.

You might take a look at the M&P15T. It is a 16 inch barrel with a 10 inch Troy free float rail and Troy folding sight.
