So, anyone around here from my neck of the woods?![]()
I am originally from New Hampshire but have lived in Florida most of my life.
Does that count ?? My brother and sister are still up there with all those funny talking people. ![]()
S.M.
Nope your it. Enjoy the isolation. ![]()
I do enjoy it, but you folks seem like you would enjoy Vermont too.
We are just about the most gun friendly state as youâll find. We donât require permits to CCW. There are shootinâ ranges in everyother backyard. The winters may be long, but thats ok. Convenience stores typically have ammo. We never had a shortage of ARs, AKs, or whathaveyou. Life is good here.![]()
Fine then, I hereby declare myself, âThe King of my State!â, as far as M4C.net goes.
Hooray for me!
You guys donât know what youâre missinâ, livinâ in places where folks need permits to be free.![]()
You are not alone.
So does that mean you are from here?
Yes - since 1999.
Canât get there from hereâŚ
Yeah but you have that loonie Bernie Sanders
And Jim Jeffords
And Patrick Leahy
And any other number of leftwing weirdos, progressives, sell-outs, etc.
And lake monsters.
But vermont CCW is cool and the scenery is wonderful. Probably does not get as humid as MA and S NH.
Chad
grew up in N Central Mass from the age of 10 and lived 5 years in S NH as an adult
Iâm not from VT but am near there and am looking at moving there.
VT is a strange state politically, Philip Hoff and Reapportionment kind of ruined old VT.
VT newspaper was advocating the hunting of hunters!
I live in NY but am very close to Vermont (separated by the lake). While I am envious of your gun laws, I see the loonies and granola crunchers and it makes me wonder how gents like you can survive over there!
Hey Iâm in Barre, VT but Iâm a âflatlanderâ
Iâve only been here since 1990 when I came up to go to Norwich so as far as I am concerned you can be King:). What area do you live in? When ever I get called a flatlander I tell them they are flatlanders and point out what real Mountains look like, the Rockies or the Alps! That usually fires people up.
I went to Spaulding High School in Barre, I now live in Washington, Vt. like five minutes from Barre. Do you belong to the Barre Fish and Game Club?, If not, you can come shoot at my house in my yard for free. I live in a gun friendly spot, my neighbors even have shootinâ spots in there yards. I was born in New Jersey, the lived in Mass, Army;everywhere, etc;
My father started in the Border Patrol up at Derby Line in 1940 and I was born in Rutland, if that counts. We moved in 1947 or so and I have only been back for a few brief visits, last in 1985.
Have lived in prairie and Rocky Mountain states most of my life, so it was a bit of a shock to find out how geographically small Vermont is. Pretty country, though. ![]()
Born and raised, starting some carbine classes at VT Tactical in a couple weeks and hoping to find some more like minded folks. Unfortunately ranges are far and few these days as all the land is getting bought up by unfriendlys and developed.
I was born in Barre, Vermont. My family fled the socialist oppression and moved to New Hampshire many years ago. I consider New Hampshire to be my âhome State.â
I recall a fifteen years ago when they had the âtake back Vermontâ movement largely inspired by laws and regulations controlling forestry practices. Apparently in Vermont it is a widely held belief that if own land with trees on it you do not have the right to cut the trees. The take back vermonters got there asses whooped real good. My guess is that it is only a matter of time before VT loses its bragging rights about permit free concealed carry.
The state is currently primarily inhabited by native woodchucks and transplants from New York and Massachusetts with their inspired liberal ideas.
No offense intended to the native woodchucks.
Dude,
what have you been smoking? The âTake Back Vermontâ has never been about forestry in my life, and the anti-gay marriage movement took a great slogan and ran it into the dirt. as far as âit is a widely held belief that if own land with trees on it you do not have the right to cut the treesâ I have never heard of such a thing in my life, logging is still strong and as long as it is on your property you can cut it whenever you want. We do some logging frequently, some for milling and every year for firewood, its no different than cutting your grass.
