Don’t know much about them other than the lowers are Superior Arms and James Yeager and several others over on Tactical Response forums own several. I was considering a KISS rifle and like the looks of the SLR15 with the A1 upper and 16" barrel. Any input?
While I do not own one… I have had the opportunity to closely examine one and I would recommend it. It’s was spec’d out by Greg “Sully” Sullivan who is a very switched on real deal guy who is very knowledgeable about AR’s and how to use them and is the head honcho for the Defensive Edge… No short cuts and you get a free class from him with a purchase.(That alone makes it a great deal)
I have taken several courses with Greg and he is a excellent instructor who can bring out the shooter in anyone and his rifles are top notch…

+1 here. I have also put a couple hundred rounds through one. VERY well made. I plan on getting an SLR15 complete upper on my next go around.

seen them at gun shows and handled some but prefer the DPMS brand over the SLR but that is my opinion only…
What do you base that opinion on?
I have 2 DPMS’s and have shot most of the other ar15’s and SLR’s have nothing on the other makes, so will stick to the one that fits me personally…
The exterior of an AR matters not. Did you open the SLR and compare it to your DPMS? How bout barrel steel, bolt steel, etc? Did you compare those components?

don’t have to, I buy DPMS products and have for a number of years. They are a great company to work with and they are a local company also. also, if DPMS ever went out of business, RRA’s would be my next choice. I only think of the A,B,C,D, and R’s of ar15’s as the best choices, not some Johnny come lately manufacturers that are springing up…
Well I think you might be in the minority with your opinion about DPMS being the very best (same goes for RRA). The SLR might not be the cat’s ass either, but they most likely use better components than DPMS in their weapon.

He should ask Pat Rogers about is observations of DPMS rifles over a large sample size.
Perhaps DPMS is improving but they sure put some stinkers out in the past. They even seem to have managed to surpass Bushmaster on a per capita basis for bolt failures.
I am looking for the wisdom in this post and still have not found it.

I’ve never even seen one but the Tactical Response guys always talk highly of them. Every time I think of DPMS M4arc’s “Mutt” comes to mind. It’s “mostly” DPMS and it runs like a champ.

I don’t have a full-up rifle from these fellas but I do have a Sully stock on a Colt Sporter LW and it is very nice indeed.
I didn’t write that they were the best, but they are for my purposes. I have 2 DPMS’s, a 20" SS bull barrel left handed version, and an A2 upper coupled up with an A4 lower and they do just fine for me, no problems and don’t expect any…
How does this combo balance? I’ve heard Sully’s are heavy. Does it feel right? Do you have anything else hanging on the front to counterbalance it?
Are you referring to the Sully or the DPMS?
