Have a SOCOM 556RC ordered for my AR15, but I’m tempted to get another for my Tavor while they’re reasonably priced. I originally had funds saved up for an Osprey .45 since I don’t have a .45 suppressor yet, but I’m wondering if it’d be a good idea to double up on a Surefire suppressor right now while I can. I hear that the SOCOM suppressors have very minimal POI shift, but would it still be an issue if I used one can for several guns?
I have a socom 762mini that I run on a 300blk AR and a steyr SSG69. Have not seen any poi shift after swapping between the two repeatedly.
As long as everything is aligned you should not have any problems switching a suppressor between rifles.
Unless your poi shift was in a specified direction, and the suppressor was aligned differently than when installed previously, it shouldnt matter.
Many mounts cannot allow it to be mounted differently.
I have a multi cal can i built, and the ar adapter is qd to a vortex flash hider, and it will poi in a specified direction. It was slight, and took me awhile to find. I believe it is the pin that locks in one of the slots to keep it from rotating.
No, the bullet isnt striking it.
Been meaning to shorten it some, just havent gotten to it yet.
Also thinking of going to a dedicated ar can, making it irrelevant.
However, factory mounts usually remount the same every time.

I have a SOCOM 556 RC that I swap between 3 ARs with Surefire muzzle brakes on each. The POI is different for each rifle (Ruger SR556=down to the right, Colt 6920=down to the left, Colt6933=straight up) but it is always deadly consistent no matter how many times I swap things back and forth between them.
BTW, the POI shift on all my rifles was under 1 MOA but in different directions. YMMV.
If you do find a shift then you can keep your deviations in your dope book that way you can refresh your memory when swapping rifles and suppressors.
