I’m mostly looking for info regarding their black magic load, as that is what I use when hiking in bear country. However, I am interested in penetration numbers in any of their products, just to give me an idea of what a solid slug is capable of. I have looked around some, brassfetcher, and about all the pages on this site. I have not found anything yet.
I heard a review of the black magic load on a buffalo hunting trip. It went through a full size buffalo broad side. That’s alot of meat…
I’ve also considered the option of buying a light .44 magnum rifle, Rossi for example has a 5lb, 16" barrel .44 that would be nice. But I have no idea how a 320gr hardcast slug would compare to a 12gauge hardcast slug. Big weight and velocity difference…
As a side note, since I don’t want to waste board space by opening two threads, how is Hornady TAP (5.56) through barriers? I see that Doc says it is good in soft targets, but I do not see mention of it through barriers.
I’ve been lurking here for some time, I love having a board with actual useful information, and I have made ballistics my hobby to study, I find it very fascinating.
