Any Acura owners on here? (Found a solution with photos.)

My insurance company finally settled up with me after last months Car BBQ. So I replaced my car with an '08 Acura TL.

Car is great, Blah blah blah. However I am stumped as to the best way to have a readily accessible firearm in the car. Of course I prefer to have something on my side however that isn’t always possible because of my work clothes. The Center console isn’t quite big enough and the Glove box is too far away.

My hope is that some of you have had some experience secreting a gun in such a car. My first thought is a holster attached to the underside of the dash so it is next to my knees.

Ideas? Thoughts? Criticism?

Not Acura specific but I’ve seen setups like that, with a holster mounted underneath the steering wheel column. I’ve also seen them attached to the front of the seat with the pistol underneath your legs. The draw would be more appendix carry than a traditional 3/4/5 o’clock.

The left side of the console seems like it’d be a good spot but I’ve never seen them mounted there and they may very well interfere with your right leg.

In case anyone cares, I came up with a pretty good solution I think.

I use a Bladetech Mini TMMS on my training gear so I can easily switch between sidearms.

I had picked up an extra piece and attached it to the area underneath and to the right of the steering column.

This allows me to easily put any of my handguns in the car and take them out as needed. It also makes it easy to lock the gun in the glove box if needed and leave nothing visible fromt he outside to indicate there is a gun in the car.

I did mess up a bit. I should have angled it more to towards the middle of the car. It would have made for a better draw angle. As it stands it works well although my Glock 17 does touch the sterring column slightly.

Nice solution kwelz. I wonder how a left-handed holster would work.
