I think these lists are silly. Here’s mine:

Not really in order, but not too far off now that I think about it.

  1. AR15. Colt. 16" max, with adj stock, Aimpoint, and light. VFG optional, but preferred.
    1. Colt preferred, but no real brand preference as long as it works, has useable sights, and a decent trigger.
  3. S&W 442 or 642, Airweight Centennial 38 Spl.
  4. Winchester 52 Sporter. Need a nice .22- Might as well make it real nice.
  5. Browning HiPower. Yost-Bonitz SRT preferred, but others will do fine.
  6. Remington 870. Should have one universal shotgun I guess.
  7. High-Standard HB.
  8. M1 Garand. I just like 'em, that’s why.
  9. Bolt action .308, but a moderately light one. Nothing big and heavy and “sniperish”. Some sort of Scout, or semi-Scout rifle would fit nicely here.
  10. Big rifle. .375 or larger. Magnum Mauser, Win M70 (one of the recent Pre-64s), etc, in caliber .375 H&H Magnum or .416 Rigby. OR lever action: Winchester 1886 45-70, Winchester 71 450 Alaskan conversion, or Yost-Bonitz “Big Lewie” (Marlin 45-70).

Actually, aside from a few details of the last couple of items, I have it covered.
