Ive been doin a bit of research lately, and i understand the process except for one detail. When creating the Trust in Willmaker, do I add any item to the Sched. A, send it in with my Form 1, $200, etc, get my lower engraved, get approval and THEN add the lower to the Sched. A?
Or do I send in the copy of the trust with the lower receiver/ser# on my Sched. A, get it engraved, and whhen i get approval i can slap on an SBR upper?
I would add an item to the Schedule A. It could be anything, but most states require at least one item to be held in the trust for it to be valid.
I would also get the lower engraved immediately; donโt wait for approval.
You can add the lower to the Schedule A now (it would just be a title 1 lower receiver), or you can add the lower to the Schedule A later. As long as the Schedule A lists at least one item, you should be okay.
I was going to get it engraved immediately, in the above post i put wait for approval after the engraving. i really just wanted to know if i put the title 1 lower receiver on the sched. A before or after approval. i just didnt want to add the item after if i didnt have to. once you add more items to your sched. A, do you have it get it re-notarized?
I have put whatever item I am buying in the Sch. A before I send it. I created a file in Word and just add to it when I get a new item. Print out 2 copies. One goes in the safe with the original trust and the other goes to the ATF with the forms and copy of the trust.
You can add it as a title 1 firearm before you receive ATF approval for the SBR creation. You can add anything you want to the Schedule A (a pencil, piece of paper, etc).
And J Krammes is correct โ you do not need to get anything re-notarized when adding items to your Schedule A.
