Another new AR is born

My latest AR is now “complete” and ready for it’s first trip to the range (hopefully soon.)

First, the specs:

  1. LMT Defender lower receiver, castle nut, receiver extension, LPK, and single stage trigger
  2. Factory Sabre Defence middy upper, barrel marked “5.56 NATO 1/7 CMV”
  3. VLTOR comp/FH
  4. Magpul goodies, Milspec CTR, MIAD, trigger guard
  5. KNS anti-rotation pins
  6. Daniel Defense Omega 9.0 (I think I’m converted from Lites to Omegas … what a nice rail)
  7. Daniel Defense receiver sling adapter, quick release
  8. Blue Force Vickers two point sling (My first of this type, really like it, too)
  9. Pentagon 60 lumen LED weapon light
  10. LaRue Aimpoint Mount
  11. Aimpoint CompML3 2MOA
  12. Troy folding read BUIS (with cool LaRue logo)
  13. PRI Gas Buster CH
  14. LMT FA BCG
  15. Magpul XTM panels in faux digital camo

Some pics:

To get everything I wanted, I had to source parts from a bunch of places, so thanks to Rainier Arms, G&R Tactical, DSG Arms, LaRue, Talon Arms, Magpul, and Virginia Arms. Thanks again to gotm4 (Robb) at Virginia Arms for putting the pieces together and having an LMT lower sitting around.

I really like the XTM panels and I am going to order more. I think the faux digital camo scheme looks cool and the panels are easy to put on, take off, and are solid as a rock. They are priced right, too.

Sweet rifle

Go Hoos!

Good looking rifle! I really like those panels too.

Very nice work. My Sabre middy upper from Rainier has been a lot of fun to shoot.

good looking rifle. Well done

Nice setup. Well done.

Thanks for the comments … I can’t wait to shoot it but my local range is closed this weekend for IDPA championships or something. Next week …

Mike,
Why do you favor the Omega over the Lite?

Nice build! Congrats on the new addition

Nice!

  1. Slightly less expensive
  2. Seems just as solid
  3. Build quality is typical Daniel Defense
  4. Built in sling quick detach points at rear of rail
  5. User installable by most anyone (so I hear, I didn’t install mine)
