Another Legend Passed Today: RIP Gaston Glock

RIP, Mr. Glock. Your name will be remembered with Colt, Browning, Mauser, Garand, Kalashnikov, and Stoner, and many others as one of the pillars of firearm technology and history.

RIP good Sir, there are very few who arguably change an entire industry but Gaston Glock was definitely one of those people

Curious what direction the company will take now. Presumably his will dictates who inherits what, between his survivors. The company is worth about $1.1 billion, according to press reports.

Makes me want to grab a few G19s before the company starts cutting corners. Hope they continue to produce reliable products.

I think his wife (who is 50 years younger than he was) may take control. She already sits on the company board.

So long as Freedom Group doesn’t buy them out. But in general, I just don’t think it’s in the their culture to cut corners.

I did that when they came out with the 4th and shit was choking. I still have one I’ve never shot.

The gun maker has died.

“Glock developed the famous handgun in the 1980s, when the Austrian military was looking for a new, innovative weapon. Until then, the Glock company had made military knives and consumer goods including curtain rods. “

Where are the curtain rods?

I’m curious and want to see the curtain rods.

Wow, RIP. His legacy will live on for years.

Not as prolific a designer as Browning or Maxim, but his pistol design has revolutionized handgun technology.

Plastic frame double stack striker-fired guns were out of this world in 1983, but highly ubiquitous now, because of him.

We rely on our Glocks every day. We’ve needed them in situations multiple times.

I love my Glock knives too!

Congratulations on your legacy of product improvement of the HK VP70, the first high capacity, poly frame, striker fired auto with an atrocious trigger.

-Exactly-

Remembered with Colt - Browning etc? I think not.

RIP Regardless.

RIP

May he be buried in a blocky plastic coffin.

And then dug up and reburied in a slightly improved blocky plastic coffin every few years.

How can you cut corners on a Glock?! It’s ALL cut corners! I means it’s designed with the same esthetic as a brick. Reliable as heck but…

I’ve never gotten to the point of owning one. There was always something else in the shop that fit me better in striker models. Of course all those based on Glocks so…

To be honest, I didn’t know he was still alive, forgetting it was not that long ago Glock came on the market.

I hate these fcvking Marxist media slime bags…
“Man who made billions out of death and killing dies at the age of 94”

Mass killings featuring popular political ideologies likely supported by the author/publisher.

The winners don’t just write the history, they also write the news. Either directly or indirectly.

Well he won’t be around to see Glock perfection. 5 Generations and counting. R.I.P.
