another fingerprint card question

i just went to the local sherriff’s office to get fingerprinted and on the cards it has the ORI for the sherriff. does it matter or do i need the ORI for the ATF?
does anyone have the ATF’s ORI info so that i can write it in?
i did a search and couldn’t find it.

Ok, i did another search and came up with:

DCATF0100
AT&F
FIREARMS & EXPLO DIV
WASH, DC

Does this sound correct?

call batfe and ask them, they are very helpful and nice

I actually did call on this very question a few months ago. You can either get the fingerprint cards from ATF that have their ORI number, but they will white out the number on the ones you send in and put the one they want on them. At least that’s what they told me over the phone. It’s easy just to order the cards online from ATF and wait about 10 days (that’s what I did).

The way the print process is these days at ATF I would not trust them to write anything on… I always do my own white out… I just had one approved a couple of months ago and I put this in the ORI blank… (I copied it from some cards I had from NFA ATF a while back)

WVATF0800
ATF-NFA BRANCH
MARTINSBURG, WV

You need the correct ORI. The ORI above is correct, as it’s stamped on the cards I got straight from the BATF, and I was also approved using them.

this is what i put on my cards…found it last night.

also, do you make the check out to the Department of Justice like it says on the form1? i have seen where people say to make it out to the BATFE, department of treasury…

Form 1 checks go to the Dept. of Justice. Form 4’s go to BATFE. Not sure why but why does the ATF do anything the way they do???

thanks for the info guys:)

My cards have always had the local PD ORI number, and I’ve never had any problems.
