Props to Yang for being able/willing to debate his positions vs live in an echo chamber. He’s obviously a highly intelligent person even if his conclusions favor big government. Dude has to go on conservative show to have an intelligent conversation and unlike any left shows of a similar nature, he’s able to make his points and not interrupted or called names:

If people can’t handle opposing POV by intelligent people that are not brain dead zealots - regardless of where they stand on the topic - then they’re no better than the others who say same and only want to exist in their echo chambers. That’s one reason we can’t have nice things. I like Yang for the same reason I liked Gabbard, while they are mislead on some topics, they’re not brain dead zealots, not puppets, have two working neurons, and can learn.

F that. Let’s hear both sides. He’s got the balls to discuss on a platform that won’t automatically validate him, I’ll listen and consider even if I ultimately reject all of it.
Be nice if the non radical, non foaming at the mouth, non extremists members of both sides could actually sit down and discuss the issues and possible solutions rather than just taking turns seeing how bad they can F the other guy over.
That would require critical thinking and the ability to listen to an opposing viewpoint. Two requirements most individuals are lacking these days.

Oh, and the words “common sense” should be banned from political speech. I’m serious, mostly.
We don’t have to compromise, we only need to consider. Some things should never be compromised.
But that doesn’t prevent a bunch of adults from sitting down and talking about it like grown up. Maybe if a few more normal people talked to each other they might discover why we don’t compromise THIS because it can lead to THAT.
It’s like explaining to people that we have to suffer KKK and BLM rallies because so long as they are free to speak their minds, so are we, so long as we don’t turn racist hatred into action. But that is part and parcel to the first amendment. You don’t have to like Tom Metzger or Louis Farrakan but if you truly defend the Constitution that means they can believe any ignorant shit they want and talk about it all day long.
And for a long time we used to have these discussions, now everything is one side shouting at the other and those who shout loudest seem to win.
