Anybody here have a link to or can email me a document with standard rifle range commands in pashtun/dahri? I’m trying to be proactive and not rely on awesome PTP classes.
This may not be exactly what you asked for, but you can take Rosetta Stone courses on marinenet for free now.
rosetta stone is pretty good, I learned spanish and farsi from their courses. Be warned though they are more mainstream dialect so smaller isolated dialects you may have trouble but you will at least get the basis down for continued learning.

Use your .mil email address and you’ll have access to Dari & Pashto. If you don’t have a .mil use my name (Paul Nichols) in reference. You will be able to download the course that will teach you how to speak the language, there is also a mission game where you are on a range talking to Afghani avatars.
The Marine Corps also has CL-150 that has those targeted phrases.
All of these are paid for, no cost to you.

The iTouch is for ‘sustainment’ portion of the training.
It doesn’t have the speech recognizer on it but you can here a native speak it and hear how your pronounciation compares.
We will have this on MarineNet probably within a month, at that time you can download it to your iTouch. In the meantime, if you are willing to sign one out and run it through its paces…

I’m driving down to Lejeune to pick up 34 computers because up here in Quantico we have 75 Lts that are supposed to be pilots but we don’t have enough airframes. so they are going to get language training until they can go to pilot school.
The highest ranking Marine I issued one of these to was MGen Spiese, the highest enlisted guy was a MGySgt at 29 Stumps.
Just give me a time and location on Wednesday after 15:00 and I take up 3 minutes of your time handing this iTouch to you.
If you don’t want it, no big deal but I’ll be a monkey’s uncle if I’ll drive all that way for a bunch of Lt pilot bubbas, issue out iTouches to all these other guys and not find time to drop one off with you.
