Interesting read, Thanks for posting that up LB. I had not thought about the Sykes/Fairbain in years. Makes me wonder what these guys would change if they had access to more modern equipment that we have now.
Even if they did decide to still rock old slabsides, I am almost sure they would change their thought process on point vs. aimed fire in short order if they had better sighting options.
Some of those old firearms really remind you of the question: “What stories they could tell, if only they could talk?”

IIRC, some of those guns had the thumb safety rendered inoperable by a screw that kept it in the “off” position.
Is this one of those? Or am I just not remembering correctly?
