How do you guys store your ammo? I am contemplating picking up a used safe this weekend to store all my ammo in my garage. Right now, I store it in a cabinet in the garage but I can not lock it. I have a little one on the way and want to make sure my ammo is not accessible. Photos are always appreciated.

If it were me, I woulkd just put a hasp and pad lock on the cabinet.
Thx for the suggestion but its a cheap plastic cabinet. No where to add a lock and/or clasp.
Understood. For me a safe to store ammo is overkill, unless I was trying to convince my wife of needing a safe. You can buy heavy metal cabinets for a garage work shop with locks cheaper than a safe.
With the price of ammo now though, a safe could be justified I suppose.
Until last week I use to store my ammo in old ammo cans or plastic bins. I went to a sheriff’s auction and picked up an old safe roughly 24" deep by 31" wide by 41" tall and weighing around 800 lbs for $30. Apparently nobody wanted to deal with getting in their home but since I’ve got machinery to move it, no big deal. I have 2,000 rounds of .223, 2,000 rounds of 45, and 700 rounds of 9mm plus five pistols and 35 AR mags. It works great…I’ll post pics later…
While it’s cool you can do the same with a hasp and a padlock. I just got lucky with this steal of a purchase. At least I know nobody’s going to be walking out with it…
