AMMO Bill

Inhofe explained to Klein he is working to introduce the Ammunition Management for More Obtainability (AMMO) bill that will limit “non-defense, armed federal agencies to pre-Obama levels of ammunition.”

The Oklahoma Republican called the buy-ups intentional and referred to testimony last month from Nick Nayak, the Department of Homeland Security’s chief procurement officer, who said DHS has the right to buy up the ammunition.

Inhofe was skeptical of theory that the ammo buy-up was an effort by DHS to seize power from the state, as some have suggested, but did say it was unprecedented and shouldn’t be allowed.

“This has never happened in this country before,” he added. “We’ve never had government trying to take that much control at the expense of the law-abiding citizens. And we’re not going to let it happen.

I think he may be on to something.

DHS has the right to buy up the ammunition.

That says it right there. Maybe local LE’s should send an ass load of letters telling the Feds they are taking up their training ammunition. My local town department has gone from the 48 round qualifying template to a 25 round template. Plus, they are doing more airsoft. That is really scary.

More and more people are beginning to agree with me that buying up all the ammo has been a part of Barry’s “under the radar” gun control.

I hear other voices besides Inhofe speculating that this is the case.

My local troopers are shooting their own ammo for practice. Disgusting.

I wonder if they are flipping it on Gunbroker.

This has been disproved over and over again. All it is…

The reason ammo is hard to get is people buy it as soon as it hits the shelves and many scalp it on gun broker. Demand is higher than companies can keep up with. There is no dark conspiracy.

Any bill that give Hussein’s cartel the middle finger is good in my book.

I don’t buy into the consiracy theory. But I like the fight against the idiot.

Hell I have been doing that for 13 years. While I agree the department should give ammo out for practice at the end of the day its on the officer himself to make sure he stays proficient because its his/her life on the line at the end of the day.

Fox ran this today:

Bullet blitz: Demand from public, government leaves ammo shelves empty

Regarding the current ammo quandary there are IMHO a number of factors that play into the matter.

Where’s the “tin foil” screamers now?

“One man with courage makes a majority.”

It seems it is not a dark conspiracy, but openly admitted by the government (or at least admitted through slips of the tongue). I was skeptical (and still am) but your reply does nothing at all to prove your point.

The scalpers buying it up and reselling is a symptom, not the cause of the problem.

Its obvious as all hell what DHS is doing, and that doesn’t even take into account DHS’s predilection for posing conservatives as their “tango-kill” of choice in their operator training!

The obnoxious part about is is they’re using OUR money to do all the buying.
