American troops are to be permanently stationed in Taiwan, according to Taipei, a huge move that will likely send tensions with China soaring as it president Xi Jinping covets the island.

They went batcrap on MacArthur for being less close than that… my gut Biden thinks this’ll get him his “War Presidency” for reelection or weaponization, and possibly a nuclear culling of the Deplorable herd. If we take the hit because of a foreign power, we become sacrificed pawns to proclaim martyrs in a new “Remember Pearl Harbor” war-cry.
Urban areas are primarily populated by Democrat voters. That plan wouldn’t work out that well.

We’ve had US troops in Taiwan for quite a while now. It’s interesting the media is picking up on it now.
Isn’t it though? Especially mentioning the little island a mile from the Chinese “border”. WTF?
I’ll bet our intel folks could tell you about PLA covert ops in our hemisphere that would make some tremble and others pissed off. Hell, with the influx of Chinese illegals they might just have a “Sleeper Regiment” spread across our country. Who knows?
A good friend of mine (who is a retired SGM from Army SF) and I have semi-jokingly said that if the balloon ever went up between us and China that all the Chinese restaurants would be closed that day…interstate overpasses, water pumping stations, cell towers, etc. would be blowing up!

Soldiers are used to being part of the tripwire. We were part of the tripwire when I served in the 8th Army (ROK). Hell, I wish I was a young soldier again, I’d love to serve in Taiwan.

Well, I have a theory about that intelligence thing…
We need as many distractions as possible as election draws near. China threat, Russia threat, Huthi threat, Iran threat…. We don’t need a reckless orange man in office now. And changing now would signal weakness… that will be the message and the same imbeciles who bought it last time will do it all over again.
Politics is the greatest shown on earth. Hollywood is nothing in comparison.
