Amazing vid from Japan

This new vid is amazing. Of all the vids I have seen, nothing brings home the flooding like this.

You can see a few at the very end who don’t make it. Any entire town totally ripped down. Mother nature don’t fu&^ around when it decides to act up.

right on Will.

Not much cortex there.

A lot of Limbic system & reptilian responses from their souls heh.

You’d think that would make them run faster!

It’s amazing how the brain simply shuts down all higher order function when faced with a level of disaster they can’t really comprehend. Terrible to watch really.

Yes, exactly my point.
It was painfully apparant to me in that video.

As I recognized the behavior…

Scrape off all the other BS & humans are still animals.

Q.E.D. (quod erat demonstrandum)

No kidding.

You give me a chance and hopefully I’m hauling ass. To not make the best effort is IMO disrespectful to those who died because they simply didn’t have any kind of chance at all.

I can’t imagine what it must have been like to be there for that.

Amazing. I’m not sure the people were shutting down. Remember, Japan has a boatload of people over 60. It looked like to me those people were simply old.

I’m not condoning the behavior but It’s not unreasonable to think that if your fleeing from your entire universe flushing down a proverbial commode than I’m not sure some had the motivation to even run at that point.

Very sad to see, it always still comes down to fight or flight…and none of us know which we will do until that time is upon us.

I’m sure that is the case for a few, and the same thing occurred to me. I also wonder if the Japanese sense of “order” where you are expected to flee in a calm and orderly fashion isn’t at play.

Saw that earlier and made me think some of those people looked like they were dragging bags and such ? One lady looked like she was dragging one ? And really seemed to slow her down
At that ppint I would be booking it
Also made me think if you had a bob to make sure its easy to hump and has things you really need

Very sad video though

Perhaps, but your apparently assuming that even if they chose to climb into the second story of their home (if it wasn’t a single story) or some other structure they would have made it. But even then they could likely have been doomed.

I would’ve scrambled like a rabbit and am a fairly capable as well as resourceful individual. But I wouldn’t have the audacity to assume I could have escaped that nightmare should I’ve been in the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s unfathomable really.

I think those that could haul ass, did.

The slow movers were probably older, they looked female as well.

Tragic either way. That level of sheer destruction just boggles the mind.

It would mess with my head forever if I ran and left people behind to get swept away.

Yeah, that was painful to watch. Very sad too.

It’s amazing to me that some of those houses were washed over, what appeared to be a railroad bed, completly intact. Not the first time I’ve seen that in one of the videos. Well built to say the least.
