Aluminum Cased 9 mm, Anything to Be Aware Of?

If you have to pay a hazmat fee like on powder,it will add 26 bucks or so to the shipping so you will need to order bulk. What about just driveing to a close state and buying a bunch, like Nevada?
Hopefully your wallyworld will start carrying the aluminum federal in the future. Some time you can ask them if they will start getting it in stock, never hurts to ask a manager.

I drive hours to get powder sometimes its no bargain but at least i get it.

Again, this is FUD. There’s no HazMat on loaded ammo.

I believe if you read the post i said IF theres a hazmate fee…IF… I dont order ammo becouse i live in a state were i can buy all i want anywere anytime. But i can tell you this i dont get on here to start arguments. I try to help, but it seems most want to argue. And put FUD on a post …nice, I also dont get on here to be a gun snob, that haha my ar15 or glock is better than yours and yours is crap…this is supposed to be a place to find answers to problems that people cant solve. But for some it seems a place to take out their frustration on others who are trying to help.

Hows your post helping anyone find answers to the problem the OP asked?

How bout this , wana shoot and be able to get ammo move to a state were you can without some one making the rules like CA. has… Invest in a uhaul instead of a bunch of aluminum range ammo. In the long run you will be happier with the money spent. Jeeze ,just forget it,hope it works out. 379 views 22 replys…

I’ve been a little under the weather, so I haven’t come by to post.

I appreciate the help from everyone, and my apologies to Texasgunhand and Bimmer; I did not mean to get this thread heated up in any negative way.

I found a deal on some Blazer Aluminum which comes out to about equal the price of what I would pay for it at Walmart after taxes, so I’ll be trying that out. I just hope it’s still in stock when I get the chance to order.

I still have a couple cases of the 115 FMJ Blazer but it’s going fast. :frowning:

I have also always had great luck with it. Shoots consistent, too.

I am going to resurrect this thread rather than start a new one.

I purchased a Glock 43 in July and have shot close to 1,000 rounds of 115g CCI Blazer aluminum case ammunition through it without issue. I chronographed Blazer 115g ammunition yesterday using my Glock 43 and Springfield Armory 1911 for comparison. The factory advertised MV is 1145 fps.

Glock 43 with 3" barrel: HV/LV-1041/1028 fps, AV-1036 fps, ES/SD-13/6 fps

SA 1911 9mm with 5” barrel: HV/LV-1132/1111 fps, AV-1123 fps, ES/SD-21/9 fps

A 2" shorter barrel resulted in an average loss of 87 fps muzzle velocity. The Extreme Spread (ES) and Standard Deviation (SD) numbers rival those of more expensive factory loads. Head shots on a silhouette target at 15 meters were doable with the Glock 43. For practice ammunition, you could a lot worse.
