Went to my kids sporting event today and we get there and I hear Pop-pop-pop pop-pop, not real close, not real far. I tell my wife- that was gunfire. On our way home, an intersection 300 yards from where our kids were playing is tapped off and cops all over the place. We had sat and then gone through that intersection 90 seconds before the shooting. Un-known assailant, one person shot. This is 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon, in a ‘nice’ part of Denver with multi-million dollar houses an empty casing throwing distance away.
Looked on Nextdoor and nothing on there, but more car break-ins than you can count, plus a popsicle-puller harassing women. Bunch of murders with in a mile of my house in past two years.
What the ever living fudge? Guy saw someone on his security camera taking his catalytic conv of his truck, he goes outside to yell at the guy and an accomplice in a car on the street comes out with an AR…
I’m afraid you’re going to see more of this kind of behavior as we continue to inflate. When the real scarcity hits, it will come to a head. Glad you’re safe.
I’ll say this again, without any hint of sarcasm, we are witnessing in real-time the decline and fall of Western Civilization. We can have all the might in the world, but if we lack the will to accomplish the most basic of civic duties and keep fundamental societal norms intact, the whole system will crumble. It might be a slow slide into oblivion, like with Rome, but somehow I think it’ll be a bit faster for us.
I hope I just talking about the declining elevation of the sky, but I really don’t think I am.
Man, you never know. Just out doing your “soccer dad” thing and you could have found yourself in the line of fire.
Events like that scare me a little with their growing regularity and randomness. Especially doing contract work where I can’t carry or have a weapon in my vehicle.
Even if it’s all just placebo, I feel better strapped.
Carp, it isn’t even if you are strapped, I’m not bullet-proof. I know things can happen anywhere, but they seem to be happening everywhere, and with regularity.
Ring door-bell rang at 2am last night. Nothing on video. Seems it probably had to do with it snowing and maybe a power dip due to snow/branches taking down power for a split second. At least that’s what it seems like can happen from reading online, that was a first. An issue in older parts of town with powerlines still on poles.
Wife didn’t even hear it ring. She wonders why I’m preparing to repel boarders…
As the meme goes, “your country is not declining, it is being killed by people with names and addresses”.
This is not a decline, so much the lunatics have taken over the controls and shoved them all the way forward, and we are now plummeting toward the ground as they madly laugh all the way.
Per the bolded, yes, I think when enough critical mass is reached, it will hit fast and hard. There are already “to many things” going on, just a few more to add to the pile, or perhaps an intensification of some pre-existings, and… Most people cannot handle a mean tweet, or missing a coffee, or literally ANY level of stress at all in their lives without needing meds and a therapist. And we have spent so long at the top of society, that most people cannot fathom really, truly, having things “go wrong”.
The first drop when the bottom falls out will be STEEP, and people are going to freak the f*** out.
But no need to worry - after the chaos, utopia awaits! And people will love “them” for it…
Important to remember as well, as least where I’m at, that multiple-hostiles “boarding events” are becoming ever more common, along with at least one or more of the hostiles in the group being armed with firearms.
They’re getting good at it to- entry happens real fast, and they’re all over the inside of your house in seconds.
The window to respond to something like that is real short, even IF you are already wide awake and alert - which may even be a thing, as these brazen motherf***ers often do this in broad daylight.
Yup, entry team tactics work for both sides to equal effect.
As to the “intentionally” part, agree with that too. There are Neros and arsonists both at play here. Along with quite a few who believe that Rome burning will be to their ultimate advantage. Trouble is that flames are more easily fanned than extinguished.
I have no doubt that those screaming “burn baby burn” will find that out in the end. It won’t turn out the way they hope. But by then it will be too late.
This started before Biden. As much as I dislike the guy, this has been building since well before he took office and probably won’t come to a head until after he’s been dead and gone.
The $64 million question is whether those of us who live in extremely remote areas will experience this first-hand, or if all the zombies and baddies will kill each other in the megacities before they can organize and head to the far outer rim.
I don’t know the answer, just putting it out there. Not very optimistic given the last couple of years.
We just had three shootings in three days in the nicer suburban areas of our nearest shit hole (Reading PA). One was 2-3 blocks from a state police barracks in a park in a very well to do section. 1 dead 2 injured. We ain’t seen nothing yet! Strap up and strap in.
No such thing as a safe neighborhood so long as criminals have feet. Also safe neighborhoods tend to be where the good shit to steal is.
Always check six and be ready to cycle through yellow, orange and red as may be necessary. This realization that it “could happen” and the ability to grasp “this is happening right now” when / if it does are probably more important than what flavor of firearm is on your hip. Most people get stuck on the “I can’t believe this is happening” stage of shit is popping off right now.
