alexander arms beowulf mag problems

Anybody on here have a .50 Beowulf upper. A buddy of my just picked one up on Friday and we went out to shoot it for the first time on Saturday and kept having magazine issues. Failures to seat properly which seemed to be attributed to the nonstick coating, and the follower which happened to be blue constantly tilted and i mean tilted bad, couple of times the spring almost popped out from around the follower. It got to the point where we could only load one round at a time. I was just curious if he got a bad unit or this was a reoccurring problem. Alexander arms seems like a good company and he is going to call them on Monday but I didn’t know if you guys had any incite.

I have never had any problems with my alexander arms mags for the Beowulf. Are these factory Alexander arms Beowulf mags or others modified for beowulf use?

they are the factory mags that were shipped with the upper from alexander arms

MY Beowulf always worked best with unmodified USGI and Thermold mags. I would occasionally have a double feed with the Alexander Arms mag that came with the upper. I think the feed lips were tweaked just a tad too much. I never messed with it since all my other mags worked fine.

Are these black 7 round mags? My upper came with two all black 7 round mags that were alegedly Alexander Arms. Those mags were probelmatic. I purchased new 10 round mags from Alexander Arms and they have worked without issue. As I did not get my upper direct from Alexander Arms, and the mags were unmarked, I do not know if they are AA manufacture.

Give Alexander Arms a call. They stand by their products.

i’ve used usgi mags and pmags with no problems.usgi mags with magpul followers are what i normally use.depending on the bullet you might have to get rid of the nub on pmags and a little filing of the feed lips on usgi mags.

My 12 inch Beowulf upper works great with Pmags.
