AK74 Bulgarian - Is this a good deal, or junk?

It’s been a while since I posted, and I don’t remember if there’s any rules against listing a sellers website (if so, please delete or lock thread mods).

I currently own a Century Ak74 and yes, I know it’s not the best rifle, but I got it because of the reliability and cheap ammo (runs like a champ).

I want to get a couple more and have been looking for a budget buy on them but prices continue to stay pretty high at some places.

I ran across this deal on wideners.com and I’m curious what the consensus is on Bulgarians?

I see that the barrel isn’t chrome lined, but that seems AWFULLY cheap to me. Which leads me back to ‘you get what you pay for’.

Thoughts on this model?

Century Arms. Stay far away!

I hear ya on Century stuff, but I don’t see anywhere that it says it’s Century Arms…??

The price and the pic tell it all.

Same crappy furniture.

Yes it is a CIA gun. My father-in-law has one and likes it, except the furniture.

I would buy that gun for $389. I have spent $400 in worse ways!

I picked up one of these this past summer and currently have 1,500 rounds through it without any issues whatsoever. There ain’t dick for recoil and the rifle is accurate, too.

I’m not sure if those rifles are shipped with military magazines or what but I’ve been impressed with them.

Be good to know what parts are what on it.

My CAI YUGO is smooth as silk, reliable, and reasonably accurate. The action is so smooth and feels like polished glass. But… don’t know what it would be like when firing 1000 rounds in a day.

My F-in-L’s came with 4 Bulgy surplus mags.

My CAI AK-74 runs like a champ, keyholes at 25yards and all over the place at 100yards

25 yard keyholing target

US commercial non chrome lined barrels on a US commercial reverse engineered receiver.

The barrel is actually a 1/9" twist non chrome lined .223 barrel that they cut a 5.45x39mm chamber in.

These things are cheap for a reason.

Interesting - I will try to get his on a paper range here next week - we were out shooting in the desert at natural targets.

Used to be there were AR-15’s and crap that looked like AR-15’s.

Now there are Kalashnikovs and crap that looks like Kalashnikovs.
