So the other day I purchased the TWS Vepr rail on a whim without doing too much research (I’ve got a wasr10). I really like the modular type rails and hadn’t seen one until (minus the MI extended ss). I already own the orginal one and I’m not exactly crazy about it. I want both the ultimak look of the gas tube and modular lower half. This rail gave me best of both worlds, but now obviously not knowing before it won’t just plug and play in my gun. This has now lead me to the two following options…open to other thoughts as well.
- make the TWS rail work. But my question for this comes, is the gas tube tolerances too tight and will it effect my gun firing. Picture below comparing the stock gas tube and the TWS designed for the rail.

- sell off TWS, buy the ultimak top rail and lower, and mill off the rails on the lower half. Any suggestions to do the milling for this?
EDIT: Option 3: Trying to avoid. Sell off wasr10, buy a vepr. But my concerns are: will my bolton gas block fit it’s barrel? Does the VLTOR extension fit? and US palm grip work?
Which route do you think would be easier? I’m not really concerned with the price as long as its within reason…I plan to get either rail cerakoted, in the end too so milling off things isn’t too much of a concern. Sorry for the long winded-ness and thanks for the help.
