AK-12 prototype.

Ugly, but it looks like theyre addressing the safety selector and poor sights/radius of the old school design

ETA looks like maybe they shifted the charging handle to the left too?

Wow. The AK47 is ugly in a good way. I see that was the first change they made.

Looks like a push button mag release too.

It looks like they copied the dog leg rail, an ACR/SCAR stock, and UTG/First Samco/Mako group railed forend.

I do like the selector though.

I see they still don’t believe in flash hiders. And is that a QD swivel cup I spy above the mag well? Doubt it but it looks like one. . .

Looks like there’s still a paddle. Besides, what good would a push button do with a rock in magazine? Unless it’s to speed up the bash reload.

Wow that’s neat, something else I can bump fire into the dirt berm with!

They don’t believe in flash hiders but they do believe in hearing aids!

I hope the selector is ambi.

Is that a QD sling swivel spot or a place for the stock to fold/latch into?

It is bolt catch button.

Well that explains, thanx.

looks like a revamped AN-94 with some rails and stock revision.

The Russians are apparently being influenced by western rifle configurations. They seem to be remaking the parts for themselves in most cases tho.

I dig it. Does look like a left-side charging system to me as well. Might be reversible from the looks of it. Still a bit prototype-ish, but looking forward to seeing where it goes.

There are things I like, and things I hate.

A normal AK type in 5.45 just modified with market parts would be better, IMHO.

For some reason when I think of a better AK I think of AK-105, Vz. 58, and G36K/C.

It is reversible and mounted to gas piston. No mention if reciprocating.

let’s get this over with - the TWS rail is an adaptation of the Polish Beryl rail - they were NOT the first to do this.

Marc Krebs made his version of the beryl rail years before TWS made their version.

I was thinking it does look rather Krebs-Ish.

Not much more information than was already posted, but interesting to see the Russian press is involved…

As I have not stake in the company I could give two shits. Point remains the Russians are simply throwing a top rail on there that others have already done so.

The Russians have had railed top covers for years. Izhmash is not ripping anybody off by incorporating them.
