Maybe the prosecutor sandbagged.
Personally i don’t think it’s a good idea to give cops the privelege to shoot someone simply because they are armed, but that was the policy the Bush I regime FBI used against the Weaver family so my opinion obviously isn’t popular.
Dude got charged. He had a trial. The jury clearly had reasonable doubts about him being guilty. He won.
It didn’t get swept under the rug, at least no other rug than Mas Ayoob’s.

If he had been convicted cops and their supporters would have been claiming the courts were corrupt.
Like i said, it seems like a bad idea to set the precedent that cops, who frequently oppose the 2A and citizens possessing firearms, can shoot anyone for possessing a firearm which is clearly shown on Duran’s body camera footage.
