Aimshot red dot opinion's!!

I am about to buy another nice red dot. Most likely an Eotech, or Aimpoint. However, I have seen the Aimshot sights that are reasonably priced, with a good warranty. A long(2500) hour battery life, 3moa reticle. Who out there has one, or has used one, or knows enough about them to give me some feeback on them. They have me curious. Thanks!

Looks like junk. If you’re gonna go cheap at least go with vortex. The strike fire goes for around 150 and vortex has a great warranty as well.

I have one on my Mini 14 and it does fine. The model I have just has the red dot and it is a little blurry. I have a Vortex Strikefire on my AR and I like it better than the Aimshot. The vortex is clear and the dot is not blurry. So far they both hold zero under normal range conditions. I havent put either one through a torture test.

+1 on Vortex. They have US customer service (big seller for me). I am 100% satisfied with Strikefire and Sparc.

You can usually pick up an aimpoint on the equipment exchange for a damm good price. Most people on here will preach about buying once and crying once…the reason is that they’ve been there before. Myself included. It’s a bad feeling when your budget equipment takes a Shit.

And FWIW, I don’t consider vortex crap. They make great products and stand behind them. But, when it comes to RDS, I would just rather pay a little more and go with an M2 or an eotech if I were on a budget.

If they are built anything like their lasers, I would pass.
I don’t care what anyone says, Vortex make some fine optics, I have had both a sparc and a strikfire for a couple of years…and I haven’t cried yet. I am not saying an Aimpoint wouldn’t be a better choice, as I also have a comp m3 and love it…but other than the price, controls, and the battery life, I don’t really see too much of a difference between them. I for one would be very skeptical of buying anything used, just for the simple fact that you have no Idea how many hours it has on it, or what it’s been through.

Do your self a favor and get an Aimpoint T1 w/ LT660. Just my personal preference. Battery life and durability are worth the price…imo.

Check out the Aimpoint PRO. For the money it’s very hard to beat. Comes with a very nice mount also…

Take the advice given here. Get an Aimpoint.

+1 for the Aimpoint Pro, very nice for the money.

^+1. The PRO is an excellent value and the only optic in it’s price range that I trust to ride my HD gun.

How does Vortex SPARC compares to Aimpoint H-1/T-1?

I have a SPARC and an ML3 and both have performed well with no issues retaining zero or taking an occasional ding. I don’t beat the crap out of my rifles so infant comment in how SHTF proof they are. The SPARC uses a goofy battery and has short battery life. The ML3 uses the 1/3N which may not be as common as say a AA or 2032 battery, but can still be found easily. Plus it has a LONG life. Recreational and back up use the SPARC is awesome. If you’re betting your life on it get an Aimpoint. You can find good deals on used ones, especially when some new fangled model is announced.

I love my Aimpoint Pro. Zeros easy and holds it got 2500 rounds through my DD M4 with it on and no movement. Comes ready to go out of the box no extra mount needed. I have had mine on for about 7 months as it sits on my HD rifle where my EoTech had to be turned on every time. If you are using it to defend your life don’t cheap out.

How do you plan on using this? Is it for HD? Range toy?

If you’re just looking for something to practice with at the range vertex/ primary arms RDS will do just fine.

If it’s going to serve as your primary home defense rifle, then I’d recommend you go with an aimpoint PRO or otherwise.

Never heard of aimshot but judging by their name, I’d say they’re aimpoint knock off’s. Several people on here use the PA microdots on their practice guns including myself. I can attest to their reliability but wouldn’t dream of putting this on my primary.

Don’t skimp on optics.

Aimpoints are awesome.
