Hi guys. Need some clarification regarding the Aimpoint Twistmount. It appears that there is a spacer that comes with the twistmount. I assume that this spacer allows for proper alignment with an RDS that is set up for lower 1/3 co-witness? So if there is no spacer on the twistmount, then it would align with an RDS setup for absolute cowitness?? Thanks for your guys’ time.
Not quite. The spacer allows for absolute cowitness and will align with the QRP mount, but will be lower than 1/3 mounts. Without the spacer installed, the mount is actually too low to use with an AR. This is for use on other platforms that do not require raised optics. There is no spacer made by Aimpoint that will turn the Twistmount into a 1/3 cowitness.
One might be positively amazed at what comes up if one were to use either Search feature, using keywords “twist mount” (limit to this subforum, with the grey Search…), instead of assuming that they’re the first cat to ever ask the question.
