I pulled my rifle out of the closet today and was looking it over. I noticed that it had fallen and after playing around with it noticed that my Aimpoint was crooked in the mount. I adjusted it, so the elevation and windage knobs were in the propper location.
My question is it possible to mechanically zero and Aimpoint like an Eo-Tech and if so does any one happen to know how many clicks it was from one point to the other to bring it back to mechanical zero
I’m sure there is a mechanical zero, but why not cheat and just start out with the dot on top of your front sight post?
According to the manual for my ML2, it has an adjustment range of +/- 2.5m at 100m, with each click worth 13mm at 100m. Some math can tell you how many clicks it takes to go across the entire range, but I don’t care to do it.
You can use a bore sighter if you like or Co-Witness with your iron sights as already mentioned. Go to www.downrange.tv/show2 video clip Part 2 for more info.
This is one of the reasons I prefer CompM4 or M4S and Micro T-1 w/LT mounts as my primary as those sights bolt the mounts vice sit in 30mm rings that can get moved if dropped or bumped.
However, if you co-witness your red dot to your iron sights so that the dot sits on top of your front sight, as you look through your iron sights, you can always check your red dot if it gets bumped or dropped to confirm if the red dot sight has lost zero.
