I have always used full size aimpoints in the past. When the m68cco came out when I was in the Army all the way up to the comp m4. I have not had a chance to get my hands on a micro and wondering how much it is apparent when using the micro compared to one of the other models. The pro is a heck of a deal and the weight has never been an issue in the past.
I’m sure my background and use of the optics in question is nowhere near as extensive as yours, but I have both, in LaRue QD mounts, and I like both. They’re the only two optics I currently own and see no reason to own anything besides Aimpoint for a RDS. That said, if I was starting from scratch I’d probably have two PROs. I got the T-1 Micro and LaRue mount for a steal from a friend who needed the cash, and while I like it very much (the small size is nice) I probably wouldn’t pay full price for a new one and then have to pay for a LaRue mount when the PRO is several hundred dollars cheaper (I paid $370 I believe for mine, without the LaRue mount) and for my purposes, it works just as well at the Micro. Also, the weight isn’t any issue for me with the PRO. That’s just my $0.02 and your uses/needs may differ of course. But you can’t go wrong with either.
I have five of the Micro’s, mounted on carbines and shotguns. But I’m getting ready to order a pair of the Pro’s from G&R Tactical, mainly due to the price. With the deal on M4C member pricing, I can get a pair of the Pro’s for about what most people sell a Micro for.
I’m building a loaner carbine for a neighbor, and also building another carbine as a gift for one of my minions at work. So the pricing makes them very attractive.

I’ve used and owned both. Used the M68 in the Army and both the Micro and the PRO at work. I really liked the Micro but found that I was losing the dot a lot when doing transition drills. I don’t have that problem much with the bigger models. I ended up selling my Micro because of that.
Recently I’ve been thinking of giving it another try but that’s a lot of money to gamble.
Unless you really can’t afford the micro, I see no reason to go PRO.
After shooting micro’s so long, pro’s feel cumbersome and their sight picture is crowded. My target to target transitions are faster with micros…

How do you feel the sight picture is crowded on a larger diameter fov?
The switch, caps and related stuff crowds the sight picture to me.

I suppose I can see that however it will be the same sight picture as the m68 cco m2 and m4 I used for 10 years while serving. I really need to get my hands on both and see which I prefer.
