OK, I wanted some BC flip-ups so I could color them to match the DE Aimpoint cover…well I tried AlumaHyde II and Krylon and both chipped and flaked at the first flip! :(
Does anyone have any sources for “flip” style covers that have molded-in color or have any better choices of techniques for DURABLE “painting”.
The AH II seems like it would be durable but it takes a long time to cure (not a problem except for recoating) and it chipped at first flip!
Thanks in advance for your help!

All help is greatly appreciated!

Well…progress! I talked with the people at DuraCoat and they said that their “paint” has the flexibility to cover the Aimpoint covers and not chip or peel!
You can also add “DuraFlex” to it and increase its elasticity and durability!
Only down side is that you have to use an airbrush but they do have a disposable option and cheap airbrushes for those who do not have spray equipment!
Just thought y’all migh like to know! They even have colors denoted by manufacturers like “Magpul Flat Dark Earth”. I haven’t tried it yet but the guy I talked to on the phone stated that the colors are spot on perfect matches and if you had a special color to match that they would match it for you off a sample!
