Aimpoint M2 or ML2 or Micro T or H1

I’m looking into buying an aimpoint to replace an Eotech 512, and I wanted to know what advantages the M2 has over the T1, other than the obvious size and weight difference, and of coarse price. I like the look of the M2 better than the T1 (go ahead and make fun of me) but need to figure out whether I could possibly be jumping into something out-dated. Also, on the M2, are they availible with anything smaller than a 4 MOA dot? One thing I love about my eotech is the 1 MOA dot in the center; makes longer range varmint shots very easy.

If you want a 2 moa dot you will have to get a 3 or 4 series Aimpoint.

Also, a friend of mine recommended the ML2 over the M2 and said “Don’t argue, just get the ML2.”

You will have to look over the specs on Aimpoints’ website (link below) to see if that is the way you want to go.

Personally, I want the T-1.

Since you didn’t indicate that you intend to run night vision, I would go with either the ML2 or H-1 if the 4 MOA dot is acceptable or the ML3 if you want to get it with the 2 MOA dot. I think the 2 MOA dot is crisper than the 4 MOA but that may depend on your eyes.
Personally I use the T-1 for patrol and SRT but I need the NV capability otherwise it would have been the H-1.

I have an ml3 with the 2 moa. I preferred it over the 4moa.

In my world, red dot sights would be used for CQB anti-personnel use, not for precision target shooting so a 4 MOA dot is good for me and my aging eyes.

There are very good deals to be had on previously-owned M2 models–lower asking prices than the ML2. That being he case, I see no reason not to go with the M2 even if you don’t need NV.

I have an M2 and a T1. I much prefer the T1 for its size, weight and battery life. The T1 works for me much better than any other red dot or holo sight I have ever used.
