In regards to problems with the H1’s dot being seen as a line due to astigmatism, I don’t think I am having that problem. With the H1 that I just received, the dot is actually 7 dots. Yes, they hold their orientation when the H1 is rotated…but when others (young and old) look thru the H1, they too see seven dots.
What’s the call:
a) Everyone who looked thru the H1 had bad eyes
b) It’s defective
Try taking a piece of thin cardboard (like the back of a tablet) and poking a small hole (1/32") in it. Look thru the hole moving closer and further from your eye while looking through the H-1.
If it is hard to see thru, wallow the hole out a little larger and try again.
What do you see?

Do you happen to be inadvertantly looking over a set of glasses. I ask because the dot on my T-1 looks like several dots unless I wear my shooting glasses that have more coverage. If this is not the case I would check another shooter’s optic (if possible) and/or send it back and get a new one just to be sure! I don’ necessarily buy that EVERYONE had bad eyes but that is possible. Where did you get the optic from (not that it should matter)?

The “aperture” (hole) would more than likely get eliminate eye problems. I’d guess that you are seeing reflections of the dot between different lenses because of poor coatings…meaning you might have a “counterfeit”.

If I crank the brightness up and hold it right next to my eye, my H-1 looks like it has several dots, but they’re soo small I can’t accurately count how many. Mounted at the end of the upper reciever and on a brightness of about 8, it looks like 1 dot.
If yours is similar, I wouldn’t worry about it. If not, warranty!

Perhaps you should try fixating on your target instead of the dot. 
I’d rather get what I paid for, an Aimpoint that offers a clear dot just like my other AImpoint sights.
I was just teasing a little. If you have other Aimpoints with clear dots, you probably got a bad one (:eek:) or it was damaged in transit somehow.
