Aimpoint 3xMAG MOA question

Let’s say you’ve got a 2 MOA Aimpoint red dot. That dot covers 2" at 100 yards.
Now you toss on the Aimpoint 3x magnifier (mounted rearwards of the red dot).

Is the dot still 2 MOA (appears 3x bigger, thanks to 3x magnification, which still covers 2" at 100 yards)?
Or does the dot effectively become 2/3 MOA (appears the same size, which, thanks to 3x magnification, covers 2/3" at 100 yards)?

The dot gets 3 times bigger as does the target.
