aimpoint 3X mag help

i’ve got my aimpoint mounted in an a.r.m.s. #22M68 with full spacer and i just got the 3X mag. what mount besides the ‘‘aimpoint twist mount’’ do i need to mate up to my aimpoint sight. something like larue is what im leaning toward

LaRue Tactical 30mm pivot mount QD LT649 is the best

In my opinion the LaRue pivot flip mount is the best, very simple to operate, just pull back the magnifier body and swing it to the side, no levers or locks to operate.

Samson have also a flip mount that’s spring loaded.

I have my 3x magnifier mounted in a Samson flip mount. I cannot think of a single complaint or problem I have with it. YMMV.

I give the Larue major points for:
-ease of transition from 0x to 3x, the flip can be done at a full run w/o looking, simple gross motor movement, and perfect spring tension BTW
-ease of taking the whole thing off
-solid design

And I have them behind 552’s (no riser), and M3’s. The controls on the Eotech are a wee hard to get to but doable for an initial turn on/off

I have been using the Larue mount for the Aimpoint 3X since it was a proto. It is the answer for which i was searching- YMMV.

As soon as i can sell my Sampson mount ill have the Larue

Looks like a great product but wouldn’t there be some benefit of having it swing to the inside so you can still use it as a separate tool - a monocular - while keeping it mounted on the rifle? I imagine there’d be a reduced field of vision up close, but I am curious to hear some feedback on this concept.

Boris I’ll assume your really tired. So you want to point a weapon and view something but not be able to effectively engage what your pointing at? From a practical & litigious view… I don’t know what to say.

And, btw the right side is better for a secondary optic, keeping a cheek weld, ala Dr. Optic/Jpoint in 3gun.

As a lefty, when i first mounted the magnifier in the LaRue mount it was in the position you describe. It was very uncomfortable having the magnifier flipped, it severly obstructed my weak side eye (though i was able to maintain cheek weld). I switched the mount to flip to the left. Obviously this mount isn’t completely ambi as I have to push forward to flip it, which wouldn’t work in the setup show in the picture above as the aimpoint would interfere with the unlocking movement, but I run this with an eotech 553 and needed to keep enough spacing to fat-finger the eotech controls anyways. It seems to work fine, but i use the QD function more than the flip function, and would QD it if i was going to use it as a monocular.

I just got one of the LaRue mounts.
It makes the magnifier sit slightly higher than the Aimpoint when mounted in an ARMS #22 with full spacer.

Plan on getting the LaRue Aimpoint mount as well.
You know you want it.

Isn’t that why it’s a separate piece of equipment by design?

I can’t imagine you’re going to “effectively engage” the target via the 3x mag without it being behind the red dot? “ala Dr. Optic/Jpoint?” . . . .

Us tired, non-Industry Professionals can benefit from truly practical feedback like that which was provided by Rykyard. . . .but thanks for your service nonetheless.

Anyone got any opinions on the GG&G QD mount? I was talking to a AF PJ at one of Pat classes and he had nothing but good to say about them.
