AICS 2.0 vs AI AX

I am looking into getting a AI chassis for my 700 short action. I have a friend that has a an AX chassis but I am not sure if its worth the extra 300$ over the AICS. Anybody have any suggestions/ preferences
Thanks

I would look at other chassis’s aslo as the market has opened up a bit. My personal favorite us the krg whiskey. The aics 2.0 is kind of a clunker in my opinion, and I hate the thumbhole. The ax is solid. If you are getting a deal on it, you won’t regret the purchase.

I had looked into a few such as the JAE 700 but a years lead is a bit much for me.

If you are considering anAX (AR-style grip), you owe it to yourself to look at Mcrees Precision as well as some others.

Between those two options, I would go for the AX because of the side access to the magazine well allowing easier access to insert longer mags without having to raise your position of the gun to get the new mag into the magazine well.
The pistol grip is also nicer to shoot than the thumbhole of an AICS 2.0.
ViperSkins on the AICS would fix that though.
