perhaps it is not, but for the price, I am reconsidering the G2 LED…
Can you buy a tape switch for the G2LED? I’ve never found one that’ll work, so in a sense, it’s better because it will allow the use of a tape switch and at a price not much more than the G2 considering you have to buy a mount for the G2.
I should have mine by Friday, I’ll post as to if it’s in good shape or not.
The G2L is a better option than the M952 weaponlight. It has a longer run time, the lamp is more durable, it is lighter, cheaper and brighter!
You can buy switches for the G2L all day long (both from SF and after market).

I bought an aftermarket one, and it lasted about 2 weeks. I’ve searched the SF site for SF brand tapeswitches, and none that I’ve seen say they’ll work on the G2L unless I’m reading it wrong. I thought the g2/z2 tailcaps were larger than the switches that they offer. I might need to make a call to them as I already own a g2 and a z2.
Thanks for the info though. Worst case scenario, I end up with another light for $149. Can’t seen to have enough of them around anyways.
ETA: Wasn’t trying to spread incorrect information, I just hadn’t been able to find a solution for the G2/Z2 lights.
The best weaponlight IMHO is the X300. Then I like the Scout series.
The tape switch for the G2 series is the XM06 (can get it in several lengths).

My “excellent” condition weaponlight arrived today. Both the bag it was in, and the bill of sale, use the term “new”. Other than the strip of velcro on the tape switch, it certainly appears “new”. The batteries are even good.

Received my two lights today and they look new to me. The plastic ‘baggies’ that they are packaged in are marked as ‘New Surplus’. Batteries in both are still good and I just now noticed that one of the lights has a damaged O-ring between the body and the lamp head. Not a big deal to me right now.
I mounted one on my rifle and it lights up the hallway with no problem. I also went outside and from the deck was able to easily light up the small storage shed which is a little over 25-yards away.
Maybe I will try to capture a few pictures and provide links on Photobucket.

just ordered a good condition light this afternoon.
I will report back how it looks and functions since pretty much everyone has the excellent condition.
