I need advise, so far I love my new S&W M&P 15 My scope Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40 Tactical scope) is probably a little to much magnification for close range but its there if I need it. I will later get a red dot mount, is their any that would be recommended by Bushnell? Also, I need advise on a Tactical 7.0" Hand guard what would be recommended?
Thanks

For your red dot question, how much are you looking to spend and what are you going to be doing with it?
I like EoTech’s and Aimpoints, but they are merely red dots, and some models are even more expensive than your Bushnell Elite 3200. They can be had in a variety of models and dot sizes.
Bushnell makes a red dot style sight, named the “HoloSight”. I don’t have any experience with this sight, but judging from internet pictures it seems to be physically similar to EoTech’s red dot offerings.
For a 7 inch handguard there are many makers as well. The top tier ones seem to be LaRue Tactical and Daniel Defense.
Bushnell’s Holosight that looks like an Eotech is made by Eotech. The difference is that it does not have the extra protective aluminum hood and beefed up buttons. It cost about $100.00 or so less than an Eotech 511. If you’re not planning on using it real hard it should be fine. I have one on my rifle. I was originally going to buy an Eotech but found this at a steal of a price, $150.00 brand new! I’m trying to find out if the hood kit for the 511 will fit the Holosight. If it does, then I would have an almost 511 for only $175.00!
The only reason I would like to stay with Bushnell is I get employee pricing, for example the scope that I just purchased was a $600. Retail but I got it for $255.00 so I cant beat that on my budget. Now for a tactical for arm I’m still looking. I have a Streamlight TLR-2 laser light to attach to the gun so I’m still unsure on what to get. I believe my S&W M&P 15 takes a 7” hand rail. I love the La Rue but it might be out of my budget for just hanging a light/laser.
