Advice please

Appreciate any and all advice in advance.

If you were me and you had 3 6920’s, 1 bushy, 1 cmmg and a Ruger piston gun, would you sell the Ruger in the current environment? Thought would be to reinvest proceeds into bcm/dd/lmt/ka upper/complete rifle as things calm down.

Full disclosure, bought the Ruger when I was just getting into AR’s, same for the bushy (its been fine as a plinker ).

Sell everything except the Colts.

sell the bushmaster, and cmmg…

I’ve always liked Rugers of all shapes and sizes.

If you are looking from an investment standpoint it would be unwise not to sell it, lets face it you’ll get almost 2x what you paid for it on gunbroker right now. Hell throw up the CMMG and Bushy while you are at it and pocket $6K+

I think all of us are tempted to sell some stuff right now, i have a boy due in 2 months and a couple extra grand would be nice right now but i’m afraid of the possible legislation that may limit our future rights as gun owners.

Yep then search for a LMT MWS and lr308 mags

Yea, I don’t need the funds and agree with your thoughts on potential legislation, but the Ruger has been terrible. I had to send it back after 10 rounds because of a terrible jam/stovie and its such a front heavy gun.

hear ya, already in line for something similar

Your personal appeal for Ruger is irrelevant overall, especially regarding the specified unproven format. I say this as someone who’s owned several with no discernible issues in the past as well as to this day.

In other words time will tell what type of AR product they produce.

if it were me, i’d sell the bush, cmmg and ruger and reinvest down the road. i might catch some shit for this but how many ar’s do you need? especially the lower end ones like bush and cmmg

3 should be enough for the time being to arm yourself an a couple of people in your family if the situation arises

Pretty much this.

I wouldn’t sell any of them. If you can afford 6 AR’s, you can afford 7. I used to sell my guns when I got tired of them or didn’t shoot them much. Now I wish I had some of them back. Could you make out financially with the market the way it is now? Sure, but how long will it be till you can take advantage of your gain? With the way things are now I would rather hang on to everything I have. If you want another quality rifle you’ll probably have time to nut away the funds till things come back in stock. Plus, if there is another AWB they’ll probably be worth even more than they are today.

Sell the Bushy and Ruger. Most of the people panic buying are not in tune with the AR market and are paying a premium for familiar/known brands even though they are inferior quality.

Meanwhile DD has had rifles show up in stock on their site throughout this “ordeal” and still guarantees their build-a-rifle system is real time. They shut it down each day when they cap out production, and reset it at midnight. Point is by the time your rifles sell on GB you could likely have a couple DDs on the way for the same cost or less than what you’ll get for the bottom barrel guns. Seems like a good swap to me.

As other have said I would see everything but the Colts. Should be able to clear at least $5000 in this crazy market.

I would tend to agree with this.

I don’t understand this whole ‘gun selling’ thing.

If you do sell now, in this inflated market, and you try to buy in the inflated market, your ‘profit’ will disappear as you pay too much for your new rifle and magazines.

Like the others have said, if you can afford six, you can probably afford seven. In the end, it’s like playing the stock market. You might win, but you might loose too… but I’ve never been into guns for the money.

Keep the Colts, dump the rest. 3 ARs would be enough for me (but then again I have two SCARs as well).

I agree with you, I don’t need the $$. I just have never liked the Ruger, its the one rifle that I feel really foolish for purchasing. Figured this would be a good time to dump it and then buy another one when things calm down in a few months.

Thanks for everyone’s input.

Sell them all but 2 Colts. Make bank. Buy your wife a diamond or take her on a trip.

I agree with ^^^… sell all of them except for 2 of the Colts. I think you will be happy with that decision in a few months when things calm down. I sure as hell don’t want to be the guy sitting there a year from now with a rifle that I paid $2300 for but is now only worth 1k. I really don’t want to be holding onto 20 $50 pmags either.

Which Ruger do you have?
