Advice on cutting an AR10 barrel.

I am thinking about having the barrel chopped down and then having the flash hider re-installed permanently . I want to get long rails so it comes as close to the flash hider as possible. Any negatives to having this done. Can I expect the gun to function with the shorter barrel?

Who would be doing the cutting

You might want to ask the question to those doing the cutting, as how/if it were to affect fucntion,

I don’t believe it would, as you are leaving the gas syst. as is
perhaps if cutting the barrel affects anything the gas port can be opened up a little more

You would just be putting on a rifle rail syst.

You might want to consider asking these guys, and having them do it

Thanks for the recommendation. I will give Steve at Adco a call.

Sort of on topic. I had my LR308 cut from 24" to 21.75". Gunsmith was worried that he might have to open up the gas port but it runs fine. Very accurate.

i may have to do that my self to get the factory brake off my armalite. it will have to be re crowned tho. Will look into the company post showen thanks

Send it to ADCO if you need it cut down, that simple.
