Advice on Comp M4. Another Real or Fake request?

I’ve been offered up a Comp M4 in a trade. I’d appreciate any advice if it’s fake or not. Based on everything I can find it looks and sounds legit to me. The seller says it does take a AA battery, but there’s no box or owners manual which made me somewhat skeptical. The seller is asking what I would consider fair market value for it. I did call Aimpoint, and they said it’s not on the list of known fakes. I would definitely appreciate expert advice on this.

I also checked the below thread too.

Thanks!

Looks like a well used CompM4, I sold a CompM4S on the forum for $550 without a box but that was with an ADM base.

Um, I don’t have the boxes nor manuals to any of my optics, I’m pretty sure on something as simple as an Aimpoint it’s not necessary nor a red flag. Like at all.

Looks like a legit well loved Comp M4, worth $450-500 tops.

I’m pretty much OCD, so I normally keep everything. Thanks everyone for the advice!

The first posted pic has what appears to be a serial number on it.
Send the serial number to Aimpoint and see if it checks out.

This…always this…

That was the first thing I did. I contacted Aimpoint yesterday, and they said it is not on the counterfeit list. I know there’s a lot of counterfeiting going on with optics, but I felt a lot better about it after talking to Aimpoint. I’ve never held a Comp M4, so I figured it was better to get some pictures and let those with more experience try to help me make sure it was in fact legitimate.
