Can anyone explain the benefits of SBRing my Arsenal 107 CR other than a couple of inches in length which is the difference in length from the muzzle attachment and functional flash reducer/booster? Does the SBR with functional muzzle device have less flash than the 16" barrel? I’m planning on SBRing my Arsenal 106 UR “krinkov” and the savings in compactness are more apparent. Thanks.
Saves weight. Reduces total length by several inches (esp. vs. a 16 inch gun with muzzle device). Moves the center of gravity back on the gun giving better handling. Most importantly, it looks totally bitchin’.
Mine is being SBR’d for these reasons but mostly because I want to join the cool guy club.
It’ll shoot tighter groups than a normal AK yet retain decent muzzle velocity.
It’s more compact.

FWIW, the muzzle brake that Noveske patterned their “flaming pig” after does a very good job of flash suppression.

If I had to have one AK, an AK-104 clone (ie an SBR SLR-107CR) would top the list.
I’d recommend either Firing Line or InRange to cut and crown the barrel once your Form 1 comes back.
Makes for a MUCH handier and compact weapon.

Every gun geek has a “holy grail” of rifles they want. For me I have always loved the AK platform so my holy grails are a Sako M-95 and or an AK-104. The closest I will ever be able to two have either one of those (short of a repeal of the anti 2nd laws) is to clone an SLR-107CR.
